The purpose of this call for CVs is to recruit qualified and experienced field researchers to join our Enumerator and Supervisor Roster for upcoming short-term assignments across Afghanistan and Ethiopia. As an international consultancy firm specializing in Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL), Research and Analysis (R&A), Operations & Mission Support (OMS), and Engineering & Infrastructure Advisory (EIA), we deliver evidence-based and context-sensitive insights that inform development, humanitarian, and resilience programming.

We are expanding our pool of skilled enumerators to support multiple ongoing and upcoming projects covering a wide range of thematic sectors, including Health & Nutrition, Livelihoods & Food Security, Agriculture, Education, WASH, Economic Development, Infrastructure & Urban Development, Governance & Rule of Law, Climate, Environment, and Energy.

Roles and Responsibilities:

As an enumerator at Adroit Associates, you will play a critical role in the data collection process and are expected to perform your duties honestly, accurately, and thoroughly, with minimal errors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Implement fieldwork plans and instructions received from supervisors.
  • Conduct structured household interviews, KIIs, FGDs, and facility-based assessments as required.
  • Collect data strictly following sampling plans, survey tools, and protocols.
  • Upload data daily using KoBo or other digital data collection tools.
  • Verify completeness, accuracy, and consistency of submitted surveys.
  • Capture GPS coordinates and high-quality, GPS-tagged photos where required.
  • Ensure confidentiality, informed consent, and ethical standards at all times.
  • Report field challenges, observations, and recommendations to supervisors.
  • Participate in enumerator training, debriefings, and team meetings.
  • Maintain constructive engagement with community representatives and local authorities.
  • Provide daily progress updates and flag issues promptly.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor or field team leader.

Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Public Health, Nutrition, Health Sciences, Psychology, Economics, Education, Social Sciences, Agriculture, Agronomy, Natural Resources Management, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Architecture, Public Administration, Political Science, Environmental Science, Gender Studies, or other related social sciences.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in data collection is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in data collection, administering questionnaires, and conducting interviews using KoBo Collect or similar digital data collection tools.
  • Prior experience in data entry and handling datasets.
  • Willingness and ability to travel and stay in rural and remote areas as required by the project.
  • Fluency in at least two of the following languages, depending on location:
    • English (mandatory)
    • For Afghanistan: e.g. Dari, Pashto or other local languages
    • For Ethiopia: e.g. Amharic, Afaan Oromo, Tigrigna, Somali or other local languages
  • Intermediate proficiency in computer applications, particularly MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
