Profile

Dr. Dan Noël Odaba is an Experiential Learning Facilitator and seasoned Academic with over 20 years of expertise in International Relations, Peace and Conflict Resolution, Disaster Risk Management, and International Development. He has taught in leading universities in Kenya and abroad including the United States International University – Africa, Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (CDMHA), The Technical University of Kenya, and Riara University. His research footprint extends across Southeast Asia, with extensive fieldwork in Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka. His findings have been presented at major international conferences in Kenya, Uganda, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, the Netherlands, and Italy. He holds a PhD in Peace Studies, multiple postgraduate degrees from the University of Nairobi and Chulalongkorn University and has contributed to humanitarian initiatives across Africa and Asia. His work has earned him international recognition, including the 2023 Most Impactful Social Innovators Leader Award and the 2017 Rotary Peace Fellowship. He is also a Subject Matter Expert at the National Defense University – Kenya and has provided advisory, training, and research support to the African Union, IGAD, UN agencies, governments, INGOs, and civil society organizations. A Rotary Peace Fellow, Positive Peace Activator, and former Regional Dr. Odaba also sits on the International Advisory Boards of Amani Communities Africa, Hoja Youth Network and coordinates the Kenya chapter of Association of Conflict, Peace & Security Experts in Africa (ACPSEA).
