Adroit Associates implemented a specialized capacity development training program for Muslim Hands International, Afghanistan (MHA), focused on strengthening staff competencies in effective management, planning, and organizational coordination.

MHA initiated the training to enhance staff capabilities in Time Management, Planning, and Coordination, supporting improved productivity, task planning, teamwork, and operational effectiveness. Adroit designed and facilitated focused training modules using interactive and practical learning approaches tailored to participants’ professional responsibilities.

The training combined group discussions, brainstorming, workplace scenarios, practical activities, and question-and-answer sessions. Adroit also conducted pre- and post-training assessments to evaluate learning progress and determine the effectiveness of the training across the three competency areas.

Project Context

MHA engaged Adroit Associates to strengthen staff capacity in core management competencies essential to effective organizational performance and program implementation.

The training covered Time Management, Planning, and Coordination, bringing together personnel from leadership, operations, programs, human resources and administration, finance, procurement, WASH, food security and livelihoods, IT, MEAL, education, medical programming, and other organizational functions.

Adroit structured the training around practical workplace applications, enabling participants to connect management concepts with their daily responsibilities and organizational processes.

Project Objectives

The training aimed to strengthen time management skills, including prioritization, goal setting and tracking, effective task delegation, and approaches to overcoming procrastination.

The planning component focused on strengthening capabilities in project planning and execution, resource allocation, risk assessment, and monitoring and evaluation of plans.

The coordination component addressed team collaboration, delegation, meeting management, and cross-functional coordination, helping participants strengthen teamwork and communication across organizational functions.

Together, the modules were designed to improve individual competencies while contributing to stronger planning, collaboration, and operational effectiveness within MHA.

Methodological Approach

Adroit applied an interactive and practice-oriented training methodology designed to encourage participation and translate learning into practical workplace skills.

Participants engaged in group discussions and brainstorming exercises to exchange experiences and develop solutions collaboratively. Real-life workplace scenarios were incorporated to strengthen problem-solving and demonstrate practical application of the training concepts.

Hands-on activities reinforced key learning areas, while dedicated question-and-answer sessions enabled participants to clarify concepts and discuss challenges relevant to their professional responsibilities.

Adroit also administered pre- and post-training assessments to evaluate changes in knowledge and understanding. Training evaluation tools assessed the quality of content, presentation, methodology, subject knowledge, time management, and responsiveness to participant questions.

Impact and Strategic Significance

The training demonstrated positive learning progress across Time Management, Planning, and Coordination, with post-training assessments showing improvement across all three competency areas.

Participant feedback also highlighted the practical value of scenario-based learning, prioritization techniques, facilitation, teamwork, and opportunities to apply the acquired knowledge within daily professional responsibilities.

The assignment strengthened MHA staff capabilities in managing time, planning activities, coordinating across organizational functions, and working collaboratively. It also provided a structured approach for linking capacity development with learning assessment and practical application.

Overall, Adroit’s work contributed to strengthening staff performance, organizational coordination, planning capacity, and operational effectiveness within MHA.
